As the nights get darker and the air gets colder, that can only mean one thing: Bonfire Night is on the horizon. Which also means, here at our place, we’ll be dusting off the shelves, restocking the rockets, and opening our doors late September in preparation for the big night.
We get asked quite a bit, “Do you do more online than in the shop?” The answer, with a big grin, is thankfully… no.
We’re a shop. An actual, real, physical shop. Four walls, a roof, and a door that sometimes sticks when it rains.
In a world where everything seems to happen with a faceless click and a cardboard box dropped at your doorstep, we like doing things the old-fashioned way. You can walk in, be greeted by name (or with a joke if we’re feeling cheeky), and have a chat about your fireworks dreams without having to scroll through endless “Add to Basket” buttons.
We’ve been doing this long enough to see customers who used to come in with their children… now coming in with their children. It’s enough to make us feel slightly ancient, but also very proud. Over the years, we’ve swapped plenty of laughs, shared a few weather complaints, and probably consumed enough tea to float a small dinghy.
So yes, we’re happy to be a shop. A place where you can browse, ask questions, have a laugh, and maybe even leave with a story or two. We hope everyone who visits us enjoys the experience as much as we enjoy seeing you. And if nothing else, you’ll get to hear our terrible jokes in person — and that’s something no online checkout can offer.
See you in late September — we’ll have the fireworks ready and the kettle on.
