Navigating a Challenging Season in the Fireworks Industry
The past few months have been some of the most challenging the fireworks industry has faced in years. Following the explosion at one of the major rocket‑producing factories in China, all manufacturing across the affected region came to an immediate halt. As time has passed, the full impact of that shutdown is now becoming clear.
Suppliers across the UK have reported significant losses in both new lines for 2026 and existing products already in production. Some have seen shortages of up to 40%, and every supplier is experiencing some level of disruption for the coming season.
How We’ve Responded
Despite the scale of the challenges, we’ve been working continuously behind the scenes to minimise the impact on our customers. While we have lost a number of lines, we’ve successfully rebuilt and secured a full range for this year, and at this stage we do not believe we will be short of stock.
Rockets have been hit the hardest — unsurprising given the factory involved specialised in rocket production. Even so, we will still be offering our usual selection of large rockets and high‑quality rocket ranges, ensuring customers have strong options to choose from.
What to Expect Moving Forward
One issue we anticipate is increased competition for remaining stock across the industry. As suppliers scramble to secure alternatives, availability may tighten quickly. If any of our lines do sell out, we will work to source suitable replacements, but options may be more limited than in previous years.
In our many years in this industry, this is the most significant disruption we’ve seen. The combination of halted production, lost new lines, and reduced output has created a uniquely difficult season for manufacturers and retailers alike.
Our Advice
Given the circumstances, the best guidance we can offer is simple: If you see the products you want, don’t wait. Stock levels across the industry are unpredictable, and early purchasing will help ensure you get exactly what you’re looking for.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation closely and keep customers updated as new information becomes available. Despite the challenges, we remain committed to delivering a strong, reliable range for the year ahead.
